Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette Review

So not that long ago, Huda Beauty launched her much-awaited second eyeshadow palette, Dessert Dusk. Taking inspiration from the dessert that surrounds her, Huda 'takes us on an Arabian journey'. It has 18 different colours and is right my up lane! (I will say this a few times!). If you love your shimmers and glitter- you need to buy this!

The Formulas

The palette has four different textures; 8 Matte Shades, 6 Pressed Pearls, 3 Duo-Chrome Toppers and 1 Pure Glitter.

The Desert Dusk Palette has 8 Matte Shades which are so up my lane! Right now, I'm obsessed with nudes and pinky browns which makes this one of my favourite palettes. The formulas are butter-smooth like Huda described, however they are not so 'highly pigmented'. I was expecting that with one swatch the shades would come out really well, however you do have to layer up the shadows in-order to get the intensity out of them. A positive thing about the shadows is that there is practically 0 fall out- saving us time to clean up after it all the time. The shadows are super blendable and last for a long time so you can guarantee that your eye-look will last almost all day!

The Palette has 6 Pressed Pearls that are supposed to be 'rich' and 'add depth and intensity'. These shades are definitely up my lane! I do love my shimmers and glitters a lot; so to be able to use these either as a solo colour on my eyes or to blend them into base shades- its FANTASTIC! Plus the Pressed Pearls are so easy to apply on either with a brush or using your fingers. They are much more pigmented than the Matte shades and they last ages! So you dont have to worry about your makeup fading over the night at that party or during the day.

The 3 Duo- Chrome Toppers are definitely unique as they are designed to have an 'ever-changing illusion.' These shades were inspired by the changing colours of the desert- which just makes them even better for me. The best way to apply these is definitely with a flat brush and they create a killer blown-out look.

The Pure Glitter is called Cosmo and it is such a beautiful bronzy, gold shade. The thing with this glitter is, you need to apply adhesive first to your eyelid before putting on your eyelid. If you dont have adhesive, you can use eyelash glue or just dampen the brush you are going to use first, to make sure the glitter holds. It's half pressed and half loose which does mean it tends to go all over the place. I have this glitter on the back of my hand right now, and I can already see the glitter all over my laptop! You can apply this either on top of an eyeshadow base or use it as a single shadow- you pick! With all glitters you will have fall out- so keep a wet wipe close so you can wipe off excess.

This palette is just so beautiful. From the design of the palette, to the colours there's almost nothing I can fault with it. I am so glad that Huda Beauty actually added a mirror in this time with the Palette. A look that I absolutely adore is an arabian inspired eye look and I dont know about any of you guys, but as soon as I opened the package; to see those mesmerising eyes on the cover- OHMYGOD! If only my eyes looked that good!

You can purchase the Desert Dusk Palette of Cult Beauty for £56.
