Healthy Breakfast Options

Breakfast. Often referred to as the main meal of the day.
On a daily basis, it is so easy for us all to forget that breakfast should be a priority due to our busy lifestyles. We all have to quickly rush into work, drop the kids off or some people just dont have breakfast. But, did you know that having breakfast can make such a change in your day.
Why is it so important?
After a night fast, eating breakfast fuels the body and brain to get on with the day. Many nutritionists recommend eating breakfast within the first two hours of waking up. How can you expect yourself to run the whole day if you have no nutrients/fuel in you. It's like wanting a car to run without the petrol!
Apart from putting fuel in you, breakfast also provides us with vital nutrients that our body needs. It's also proven that those who eat breakfast everyday, are less likely to gain weight over time because if you skip breakfast, you are more likely to reach for snacks during the day which are high in fat and high in sugar.
Here are some of my favourite healthy breakfasts to eat.
1. Avocado on Gluten-Free Toast with Poached Egg (or Wholewheat Bread)

2. Banana and Cinnamon Porridge

3. Oat Granola

4. Mushroom Egg-White Omelette with Wholewheat Toast
