If you dont know already, Face Makeup application can be complicated as there are so many rules and different processes we have to follow. When you've been sat in front of your mirror have you ever thought about the process that you're doing? Have you ever thought how each step has its reason? I'm about to tell you guys a foolproof way to apply the Perfect Base Makeup Application.
Step 1
START WITH A CLEAN FACE
Make sure that you have a clean, fresh face. Remove all makeup left on face from the day before and the best way to do this is to wash your face with lukewarm water with a gentle Cleanser. Make sure there is no left over eyeliner or mascara on your eyes.
Step 2
MOISTURISE
It is so important that you moisturise your skin prior to application of any makeup. Using a moisturiser helps smooth out the skin giving a more polished look and enabling makeup to go on to the skin more evenly and smoothly. You also have less change of your makeup from creasing and flaking. If you have Oily Skin, moisturising your skin beforehand can create a shine-free base for your foundation that helps prevent your makeup from 'slipping' off. Using your day cream can also conceal blemishes and help hide the appearance of blackheads, pimples and skin unevenness. I like to apply moisturiser with my fingers in circular motions so I know which areas of my face may need extra attention.
Step 3
PRIME
The next step after applying moisturiser to the skin is to them Prime the skin. While moisturising softens the skin up and helps prevent any flaking or creasing, Primer prepares your skin. It gives your foundation something to hold onto. Apply a small amount on your fingers and rub it in circular motions all over the face. The reason why I personally do not use a brush for priming, is so that I can feel the primer soften my skin and I know which areas may need a bit extra. It all helps for the build up.
Step 4
FOUNDATION
Add about two pumps of your foundation on to the back of your hand. Then get a hold of your foundation brush, (I personally use a duo fibre brush) and dab spots of foundation all over your face. One thing you dont want to do is to start pulling the foundation downwards or upwards. Whatever prep we did, it'll just move it and it won't help with a more clean look. Dab the brush down and pat it all over the face for a more even look. You can add more foundation on your face depending upon the type of coverage you want? Medium or Full Coverage.
Step 5
CONCEAL
In the shape of a triangle apply a small amount of Concealer under your eyes in the shape of a triangle. By applying it in the shape of a triangle this ensures a natural looking coverage that brightens up the face drawing attention to the eyes. You can use either a beauty blender or a small brush to press it down onto the skin. Never pull or tug on the concealer and spread it. It'll only increase the looks of lines.

Step 6
Bronzer
The best way to apply bronzer is with a brush. Tap your brush into your Bronzer compact and apply to the cheeks. if you're unsure on how to apply look at this picture below. With the end of your brush, find your cheek bone at the top and press the powder along your cheekbone. For a more natural look, apply your bronzer in the shape of a 3.
Step 7
POWDER
Applying setting powders or loose powders on top of your makeup will help ensure that it won't budge through out the day.
Step 8
BLUSH
Apply a little amount of Blush on the apples of your cheek using a powder blush. Apply a little amount at a time, you can build up the product if you want a more rosy look.
Step 9
HIGHLIGHTER
Now this step, you dont have to use if you're not a big fan of highlighter. Highlighter does exactly what you think it does. Highlight! So with a fan brush, if you apply a little highlighter to the top of your cheekbones and a little on the nose it brings attention to those areas.
So there you have it guys! The basics to Face Makeup Application!
